(Cisco:) Away out here they got a name For rain and wind and fire The rain is Bess, the fire's Joe, And they call the wind Maria Maria blows the stars around And sends the clouds a'flyin' Maria makes the mountains sound Like folks were up there dyin' (Background vocalists:) Maria Maria They call the wind Maria They call the wind Maria (Cisco:) Before I knew Maria's name I heard her wail and whinin' I had a girl and she had me And the sun was always shinin' And then one day I left my girl I left her far behind me And now I'm lost, so gol' darn lost Not even God can find me (Background vocalists:) Maria Maria They call the wind Maria They call the wind Maria Maria Maria They call the wind Maria (Cisco:) Out here they got a name for rain For wind and fire only But when you're lost and all alone There ain't no word but lonely And I'm a lost and lonely man Without a star to guide me Maria blow my love to me I need my girl beside me (Background vocalists:) Maria Maria They call the wind Maria They call the wind Maria Maria Maria Blow my love to me

Of note:
Misguided seems be about all one might want to say about this peculiar take. A silly song at best, though it was immensely popular. Darned if I can imagine why. Cisco manages to emphasize all that's wrong with it. To a non-speaker of English, would this guy sound lonely in any way? And that rodeo dance music? Oh my. This sounds like a song about raising a barn or getting ready for a harvest festival. Fun to hear another attempt to be a successful pop vocalist, with a barely disguised nom de chanson of Gil Huston, but it's easy to see why he didn't make it. MP3
