Go Tell Aunt Rhody: Lyrics

As performed by Cisco Houston (With Woody Guthrie and Sonny Terry)

Traditional

Appears on:
Go tell Aunt Rhody,
Go tell Aunt Rhody,
Go tell Aunt Rhody
The old gray goose is dead.

The one she's been saving,
The one she's been saving,
The one she's been saving
To make her feather bed.

The one she's been saving,
The one she's been saving,
The one she's been saving
To make her feather bed.

Go tell Aunt Rhody,
Go tell Aunt Rhody,
Go tell Aunt Rhody
The old gray goose is dead.

The one she's been saving,
The one she's been saving,
The one she's been saving
To make her feather bed.

Go tell Aunt Rhody,
Go tell Aunt Rhody,
Go tell Aunt Rhody
The old gray goose is dead.

The one she's been saving,
The one she's been saving,
The one she's been saving
To make her feather bed.

Go tell Aunt Rhody,
Go tell Aunt Rhody,
Go tell Aunt Rhody
The old gray goose is dead.

The one she's been saving,
The one she's been saving,
The one she's been saving
To make her feather bed.

Go tell Aunt Rhody,
Go tell Aunt Rhody,
Go tell Aunt Rhody
The old gray goose is dead.

The one she's been saving,
The one she's been saving,
The one she's been saving
To make her feather bed.

Of note:

The paltry notes on this CD make a virtue of a lack of rehearsal, but poor Cisco fumbles as he tries to follow Woody on his endless circle though this "song." Other lyrics exist, admittedly hardly profound, but boy is this dull.
